Nunthorpe Parish Council

This afternoon, local residents and representatives from Nunthorpe Parish Council, Nunthorpe Community Council and Morgan McClintock – Nunthorpe Councillor met with a reporter from BBC Radio Tees regarding Muirfield Park. The petition that was started on Monday asking Middlesbrough Council not to proceed with the sale of land at the end of Muirfield is getting a good response from local residents. Here is a link to the petition:nunthorpepc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Muirfield-Petition-FINAL.pdfThere are a number of problems associated with developing this particular site including the gradient, drainage and access from Chandlers Ridge. It was clear from residents how important this ‘magic’ field is to them and their families.Nunthorpe does not have a Community Centre and this proposal represents further loss to the community of a well used outdoor play area for children and dogs. The recording is expected to go out on Thursday morning after 10am during the Gary Philipson show:www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04fhjmw

Nunthorpe Parish Council

Petition to save Muirfield Park in the Parish of NunthorpeAt an extraordinary Parish Council Meeting last night at Nunthorpe Methodist Church, residents and Parish Councillors approved a document which has been drafted in accordance with the revised scheme for Petitions to Middlesbrough Borough Council. At the meeting many residents offered to help with the petition and they were asked to return completed forms to either Wade Tovey (7 Muirfield) or Chris Foggin (12 Murifield) by close of business on Monday 11th December. The Middlesbrough Council guidance emphasises that people must add information clearly when adding their name etc on the petition document. This petition has been initiated by non-political residents who asked the Parish Council for support, which was endorsed by all of the residents who attended the meeting last night. Here is the link to the petition:nunthorpepc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Muirfield-Petition-FINAL.pdfIf you would like to support the residents of Nunthorpe, please can you print off the signature sheet and get as many signatures as you can by Middlesbrough residents of voting age.The signed forms can be handed to anyone connected with the save Muirfield Park campaign.
