Yesterday we received the following communication from Richard Horniman, Director of Regeneration at Middlesbrough Borough Council:
“The process to deliver a new Community Centre at Nunthorpe has commenced. Before Christmas two proposals were received setting out how a new Centre could be provided. One involved a new build next to the new Medical Centre on Stokesley Road, and one proposed an extension of the NMPFA facilities off Guisborough Road. Both proposals have now been carefully considered and scored by an independent panel of organisations. Although both proposals have clear strengths and represent a significant amount of hard work put into their development, the proposal to extend the NMPFA facilities has come out scoring highest. The Nunthorpe Vision Group will now be asked to consider the scoring, look at securing the best arrangement for Nunthorpe, and put forward one of the options for the funders to approve. These next steps should see work starting on designs and seeking planning permission in the next few months.”
