Community Centre “Once in a Lifetime”

The process to decide on the location of the proposed Community Centre continues. Morgan McClintock, Chair of the Parish Council, gave the following quote to the Gazette today:

“For many years, Nunthorpe Parish Council has been at the forefront of pressing to build a Centre for our Nunthorpe Community, and we are delighted that Middlesbrough Council’s commitment of funding has at last enabled some progress to be made. On the Parish Council website, residents can examine our detailed plan for Nunthorpe’s Community Centre to be constructed on Stokesley Road. We think that an alternative proposal from the Nunthorpe and Marton Playing Fields Association might also have potential to fill the gap in Nunthorpe’s facilities, but we believe that fundamental issues about this bid have not yet been answered. So, we are pleased that  Nunthorpe Vision’s Community Centre Group has called for more information before a decision is made. Meanwhile, as always, the views of all Nunthorpe residents are welcome – because this really is a “once in a generation” decision.”

As we post this, an item has appeared on Teesside Live covering the subject written by Emily Craigie, the Local Democracy Reporter.
